ARON KODESH IN PRIVATE HOME ארון קודש בבית פרטי
Aron Kodesh ארון קודש
I had the perfect solution for my client’s requirements – both practical and aesthetic – for an Aron Kodesh. The project came in a week before Shavuot and when I told my client that there wouldn’t be enough time to have it ready for the holiday, they reassured me that they were celebrating elsewhere.
In addition to feeling immensely privileged to have played a significant role in finding a worthy home for their Sefer Torah, I realised that the project felt somewhat personal.
To honour the memory of my father, I volunteered to assemble the Aron Kodesh for my client on Isru Chag of that year, exactly on the date of his birth. The special project was an opportunity to dedicate my resources to the memory of my father, and forge a special connection with a unique family whose generosity and welcoming spirit left an indelible mark.
My late father Uri, a simple, hardworking and kind man, was born on Isru Chag of Shavuot and passed away on Simchat Torah. He was an avid vatikin minyan man and when he lived in Israel, would travel as often as he could from Ra’anana where we lived to daven vatikin at the Kotel. His connection to HaShem through his steadfast routine of tefilla instilled in him a love of mitzvot, especially Shabbat.
